Water stable isotopes are pivotal in various subfield of paleoclimatology. In the last decades, collective effort has been carried out to implement them in the IPSL components, namely the atmosphere (LMDZiso), the ocean (NEMO-Watiso) and the land surface. These implementations in the latest versions of each component needs to be validated against modern data and tested in various past climate configuration (e.g. preindustrial and the warm period of the Eocene) before proceeding to a full coupling. The aim of this internship is first to design and run isotope-elabled simulations with LMDZiso and NEMOWatiso for the preindustrial. The second step will be to analyse the behaviour of each model and confront the results to the data (e.g. GNIP isotopic network for the atmosphere). Then the applicant will benefit from previous work to attempt a first coupling between LMDZiso and NEMO-watiso through the use of the OASIS coupler. If results are satistfactory, first attempts of warm paleoclimate simulations will be carried out, using the boundary conditions (paleogeography, CO2 concentration) from the literature.
